Grandpa

“As the spot unfolds, you notice that 1950s Man’s lifestyle is simpler and more active and his diet is healthier than Mr. Modern Man. He’s just happier. As the ad ends, you discover that the men are grandfather and grandson. The lovely bit of splitscreen nostalgia scored by the Tom Jones toe-tapper ‘It’s Not Unusual’ features one actor playing both parts…This ad shows that the lifestyle enjoyed by our grandparents — moving more, eating well, taking it easy — can be beneficial. ”  (Source: Buzzfeed)

  1. Great video! I like the juxtaposition of old and new. I’m not sure — is it the same actor playing both men? They look a lot alike when viewed from the side.

  4. The first time I watched it, I hadn’t noticed that it was the same actor in both roles, but the nose should have been a dead giveaway.

  6. I like it, though I have to admit I felt a pang watching the grandson powering through life, bolting down food, sailing past people, etc., etc. I don’t like much of what we’ve become….sigh

  11. But there was not so much population, stress of competition and price hike and so much more in grandpa’s life. Lovely video.
