Running. With Lessons for Rachel.

She started it.

With the taunts. The insults: “Jelly Belly.” “Man Boobs.” “Sad.”

This being Daddy’s Girl.

Daddy’s Creation. I built THAT.

She’s 2x younger. Or better stated, Dad’s 2x older.

And, then, she threw out the bait.

Dad: “Let’s compare daily step counts. Download this App.  Maybe we can get that (pointing to the belly) in better shape.”

So, it has become a Father-Daughter ritual.

Each night, before bedtime, we check our step counts via a text share.

Week 1 was a partial week and a ramp up week – – and her gloating.

Week 2 is the first full week and both sides are in full stride.

She shares her report tonight.  Her steps are shown above – along with her step count each day for the last 7 days.

My response: “Not bad Honey.  🙂

I then reciprocate and send her my daily report. (Below)

The gloating has ceased.

Words, have evaporated.

Her response:

Dad, this is getting out of hand.”

Dad’s Response:

(None. Silence)

      1. Au contraire! I was trying to pump you up! The way you’re killing that steps goal, you will knock a plank out of the park. It’s abundantly clear that you thrive on challenge..just trying to do my part to help you keep bring in’ it!

      2. Planks reduces the tum, tummy & man boobs…and I’ve been trying to figure out how to do a plank given my deficits. i do believe that the plank record time belongs to a Women in her seventies…you can surmise that I’ve been interested in planks for a while now, since I know that info…

          1. Ha, certainly not meant that way…guess I should have put quote around body description….meant it as encouragement to try planking, I think her time was 12 minutes! Wish I would have had a pedometer on yesterday walked twice, first solo then with the hubster, over two hours (way more than normal) gorgeous day, gorgeous views and perfect temp…
