4:24 a.m. and Inspired…

We’re kicking off Hump Day with The Romantics and “What I Like About You.” And then on to inspirational posts by my favorite bloggers.

Near Washington, D.C., Mimi @ Waiting for the Karma Truck with her post Walking into Life.…I’m the person you want in a crisis – no tears, very collected, logical – I’m ready. Divorce? Death? Employment issue? Performance problem? Marital angst? Sick child? I’m your woman. I can make it through Whole Foods in fifteen minutes and fill the cart with the proper items. I don’t love anyone or anything in a half-a**ed way, and as such I will give it everything I’ve got – no questions asked. I have run head long into life – but for the times when I’ve crashed into a wall. Read this post. Inspiring.

From Toronto, Canada, Luke Storms @ Crashinglybeautiful. His blog is beautiful. Crashingly Beautiful. I have previously shared a number of Luke’s posts on this blog. His posts are an inspiration. Here’s a recent post: “When you rest in quietness and your image of yourself fades, and your image of the world fades, and your ideas of others fade, what’s left? A brightness, a radiant emptiness that is simply what you are.” (Adyashanti) I encourage you to hit this link and check out his blog.

grapes3From Bucharest, Romania, Cristi Moise @ Simple.Interesting with his post Grapes. I would encourage you to fan through a week’s worth of pictures and posts. Beautiful. Worth the time and the ride. What an eye Cristi has for the wow photos…

And to close…my Rachel shared a photo of a puppy just acquired by her friend. How does one not love a Vizsla puppy picture. Just look at those eyes!

Have a great Hump Day!

  1. Thank you so much! I still have difficulty thinking that I could inspire you in anyway – even at pre-dawn hours. You who inspire so much…(in a good way – don’t you dare walk down the road of self-deprecation with that one kiddo)…
I love the Vizsla puppy and will happily bring it home, His eyes (her eyes?) look almost cartoon like in their size and color. I am officially in love again (please don’t tell my dogs)…

      1. Based on your stated challenges with pool cleaning, vacuuming and other routine household chores, I suggest you focus in on the wonderful creatures you have, before adding to the pile of goodness.

  2. Mimi’s Post on “Walking into Life” was awesome–and that puppy? Honey hush! I just melted into those beautiful blue pools–sweet, sweet, sweet….

      1. Speaking of feeling inspired, I wrote up a little something after attending Joan Didion’s talk last night that I’d humbly love to submit for your consideration. How do I go about that?

  3. What a face! There’s nothing cuter than a Vizsla puppy! As you know, the eyes turn a wonderful golden brown color as they age but the blue puppy eyes just melt your heart! Thanks for the other recommendations…..

  4. Would it surprise you that I haven’t heard of the Romantics either? Obviously not a new group – so the excuse that I’ve had my head and ears in only classical and jazz since 1987 doesn’t wash here – and I gave it 1:29 before hitting the pause button.
    I’m trying…

    1. Nothing would surprise me now LaDona. But I did get you to 1:29 before losing you. Looks like I’m going to have to go back to the ballads to claw back…

  5. May I be so presumptuous as to add a quote of my own, from one of my blogs, “Middle Magic”?
True magic is the magic of the moment; the feeling that you are making a difference, a riff, in the routine of reality. Magic is realizing that you can be a creator and a dreamer along with doing dishes or taking care of kids or grandkids. Everywhere there is a story to be told, and every story has a bit of a smile in it. All you have to do is stop and share it. Chuckling at the absurdity of the world around us, taking what we have learned through the years with a grain of salt and a cup of schmaltz and sharing it with everyone. We can only go one way on this road of life; we should make a point to share a smile or two or a thousand with as many souls as we can. Don’t you know? We are all magicians. We are all whimsical, swirling motes of dust in the sunshine of life. Powerful, crazy, magical motes.
