Wally’s Great Adventures (32). hello friends, wally here. i was sitting minding my own business and heavy-footed dad stomps round the corner in the kitchen asking me what i was doing. i told him that i was waiting for something to fall off the cutting board. he said, not that dummy. he asked why i was sitting all splayed out like that. splayed out like what i said. like that he said pointing at my legs. i told him that all frenchies sit like this. he told me he didn’t care what all frenchies did, he cared what i did, and that i looked like an idiot. i barked at him and told him that wasn’t very nice. then he did told me some stoopid story about jimmy frenchie jumping off a bridge and asked me would i do that. of course I wouldn’t, i didn’t get it. I then asked him what difference did it make how i sat. he said how could i possibly be a show dog with my ball sack hanging out and legs splayed out like that. there he goes with the splayed-out thing again. mom jumped in to defend me like she always does, i love mom. mom said show dog? what show dog? dad said oh, i knew it, wally was ‘available’ so quickly because he couldn’t sit right. mom yelled at dad and said he was insane, and that all frenchies sit like that. dad then said his frenchie wasn’t going to sit like an idiot and he’s going to have to teach me how to sit right so i can be a show dog. mom laughed at dad and said good luck with that. so dad has been training me to be a show dog, he keeps pulling on my legs to straighten them out, i go along with it of course because i get so many extra treats and atta boys but my legs will never bend that way when i sit. have a great day everyone! Wally.

tell dad that each of us is a unique being, and we are perfect just as we are. we sit how we sit and should be accepted by others just as we are and maybe you are just trying to copy how he sits as a human and make sure to tell him that being a stage dad never ends well, and he should get another hobby other than trying to always give you a makeover. maybe canasta for him?
ok beth. he’s a project. we need to be patient. i don’t know what canasta is but will tell him to get on it. have a great day!
you are right and so wise.
thank you!
Ohmygosh, Beth, DK as a show dad. What a visual….😂😂
<3
Hmmmm
😂
Wally, just be you, sweet little old you. They will love you no matter how you sit.
Ok Darlene. Sounds like a good plan!
No worries little guy…I think your style is winning, and remind dad that your goal is to be a bird dog, not a frou-frou show dog…
Oh yes. Bird Dog. I’m still working on that!
Morning Wally
I know this is your blog. But daddy occasionally uses it to post a blog by him. Did you know that?
Yesterday daddy posted saying, “Everyone in the house sleeps, snuggled under their comforters. Wally snores peacefully. I slide my hand onto his belly, and it moves up and down with his inhale and exhale. What joy this creature has brought, this little ball of life.”
You little ball of life ❤️
He said that? He did not!!!
He did 🙂
I haven’t worked with cases like daddy, but I’m guessing his love language is picking on people. By that I mean the way he speaks it, not the way he understands it. Because he doesn’t take being picked on very well.
Try saying something the next time you see him sitting with his legs splayed!
I have a cat. I let her sit the way she likes. I laugh, but I don’t tell her to sit like a show cat, please !!!
Dad said that you were a foreign language interpreter and a Gypsy. I’ll have to tell him you are a therapist too. I don’t think he knew that. You are so smart.
Dad is right.
But I’m m not a therapist. Some of my work is interpreting in therapy sessions.
I don’t know about smart.
Dad, my dad, said not to count on intelligence. But to work hard. Maybe my dad was saying I wasn’t smart lol, I don’t know.
I just read your comment to dad. He said that is a work of fine master spin. I didn’t know what it meant but sounded nice.
I really can’t get over those paws
And his nails!!!!
And his nails!
Reblogged this on It Is What It Is and commented:
Hi there, Wally … awesome day, y’all!!
Wally, I’m pretty sure your dad smiles just to hear your nails coming down the hallway. No worries, little guy; you’re always his good boi.
So funny you say that. I do. I love that pitter patter of his nails on the hard wood floors.
I see some attitude in that second pic! Work it Wally. Your dad will eventually start sitting like you.
Laughing. I think so Angeline.
[ (aside…) Before reading anything, I noticed the position of Wally’s legs and had to figure out which were front and back on his left side! ] Wally, you are one beautiful puppy–such lovely tawny colors, and that dark face to make you look more expressive!
laughing, that’s exactly what dad says Valerie. he can’t tell the front from the back!
Ahhhhh… but you love him no matter HOW he sits….
Truth!
oh gosh wally, your dad REALLY is a piece of work sometimes. You’re just doing the ordinary man-splaying, tell that to him…. I’m sure he does it too and only sees it when you do it. Don’t let him make you a show dog; he has to find another hobby. I knew what canasta was when i was younger but maybe that’s what he needs to learn. so that you can live in peace w/o his constant interfering. or ask him to get a job…. that should quieten him for a bit. you’re gold, little hero!
great ideas kiki. i will go and tell dad to get another job!
What one has to go through for a treat. Glad I’m not a Frenchie.

Me too Alan. Me too.
Wally, Wally, Wally, just tell your dad that you’re *already* a show dog, as in you are constantly showing him how to chillax and just go with the flow. He can be a tough nut to crack, but deep down he adores you, so just keep working the process….😉
i’m working on him lori. its a full time job!
There is, a tougher, totally, different set of, expectations placed on you, when you’re, bred for the, shows, I’m sure, that dad’s, only worried , that the posture you sat with will, get in the way of that.
God only knows what dad is worried about! 🙂
What do legs matter when you have ears like that!
Right !
Emma sits like that when she feels like it too. As long as they’re happy, who cares?
Yep. That’s what I tell dad!
LOL. They’re ganging up on us.
What everyone said!
Ha!
