I think the trees
are firework taxidermy. A steady
reminder of celebration and
light. How quiet. I’m a collaps-
ing house. Come collect me.

You are on a roll with this round of word/images pairings, pal. Fantastic!

I am struck by Dalton Day’s use of the word, “taxidermy”. The word taxidermy. has 103 synonyms Interesting that his book is Titled, “Souvenir” as some hunters have taxidermy souvenirs & museums use animal & bird taxidermy in displays to study…”always learning” /// What I surmise is that he must be a talking of Fall’s gift of deciduous tree’s displaying, bright, colorful, splendor and later the yielding meld, to soft mellow…and I do celebrate the sun”light” kissing the Maple, Oak & Ash leaves, noting the translucent illumination, exposing the leaves framework of veins, of life …as the colors, delight my, dancing eyes, sending rippling warmth of Joy, throughout my body,,,it is as if Dalton Day came out of Sorrow when in Courage he stepped outside in emergence, able to experience the living, deep breath of life again, and he was greeted with an Internal Wow, perhaps even an audible Wow, such a cause for,Celebration… in parallel he mourned a loss and learned to celebrate & honor the memories of relationship and in his reality, forward, to celebrate. as each breath is a gift…and in this journey of life we are “always learning”…
And I learned something from this comment. Thanks Christie.
Gorgeous post David…truly.
wow
Was my reaction too!
It’s a quiet wow. Is it a real photo? I can’t determine if it makes me think of beginings or endings. I guess it’s two sides of the same coin. I’m at a dance convention with one of my daughters and leaving for New Zealand tomorrow to visit our son. I’ve have been holed up in a hotel room all day making last minute travel arrangements and trying to finish an essay. It’s hotel limbo, a padded cell with comfortable bed. Hope you are well.
Is it a real photo? No idea. But site subtitles say:
Classical Photography,
Experimental Photography,
Abstract Photography,
Photo Manipulation and Photomontages.
So your conclusion is probably on point.
New Zealand. Nice. Hope you get out if the padded cell and see the sites.
Happy Holidays Elizabeth.
gorgeous! <3
