I hear the wind blow,
And I feel that it was worth being born
just to hear the wind blow.
~ Fernando Pessoa, from “Uncollected Poems”
Inspired by Albert Einstein’s quote: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

Lovely poem, and lovely hair colour!
Yes and yes…agree.
Now remember this…it is a basic truth
It is that. Truth. A such a Large Truth.
Amen.
I am best fighting from behind.
And to watch the sunrise, and to see the stars at night, and to witness the sea turtles hatch, and to fall in love, and so much more.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
yes, and more air/breath in your post )
Life is a miracle as tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. Great post.
Yes. So true Melody.
Boy do I know this for sure!
Especially when I hear it blowing through the pine trees in front of my house. Eerie, uplifting, alive.
There is something about wind blowing through pine trees. I agree.
Its our senses that bring us to life! Thankfully we have words too to describe how they make us feel 🙂
I wonder what the wind feels like in Fiji ….
Yes. (and here’s another Fiji fanatic!)
This carries a real poignancy for me. As someone who must beat back suicidal thoughts, I often latch onto simple, ordinary wonders to remember why I stay: the way my cat’s fur is so much softer first thing in the morning than any other time of day, how the scent of my favorite body wash greets me at the door when I come home, the perfect flow of ink from my favorite pen.
Beautiful. Love this approach.
Yes.
The varying speed of the wind along a spectrum, greets one with different decisions to be made…I always love to hear the rustling of the dry fall leaves being buffeted by the breezy wind traveling along sidewalk ..I like to intersect them and crunch them..an annual tradition for me…
While I can wait, there is nothing like autumn, and leaves….
Our whole summer has been a heatwave and now finally some relief…some “Leaves” are falling due to the heat and lack of water..I crunched a leaf today in a parking lot, after getting the windshield replaced..I like gentle breezes, gale forces wind, hearing the old growth sway and crack is scary and I like a a good storm..don’t like tornadoes never want to be in one again..it was low on the rating scale, thankfully…The only rain I’ve seen for months was while on vacation in the mid west..we had a wildfire last week, by road 3miles as the crow flies closer..thank God the ground firefighters and the helicopters with their water buckets took care of it, quickly..I came upon the fire on my way to an appointment last week and saw the helicopters dipping the buckets, dropping on the fire, thankfully no Wind and my daughter said they helicopters went over the house..we’ve had two big total loss commercial fires this summer, one last night…we were still smelling the acrid smoke today. Some loggers took down 4 fir trees from an adjacent property late yesterday..Helps with creating a dependable space due to the fire danger.
I’ve read about the lack of rain and fire threat. Scary.
