Here’s Eric with his Mom at 9 years old.

And here’s Eric with his Mom last night in front of the restaurant in Norwalk where we had dinner. He’s now 20:

And look how happy he is to pose for this shot in front of the sign.
Restaurant: Mama’s Boy Southern Table & Refuge – Highly Recommended.
Their motto: We believe in porch swings and sweet tea. Long conversations with old and new friends. Southern hospitality and charm with a little sass. Seersucker and aprons. Homemade, handmade and made with love. Cocktail hours and a good stiff punch. Anything smoked and pickled. Cowbells, old pick up trucks and loyal dogs. Farmers and their land. Minding our manners and our Mamas…
Lovely….
That gorgeous young man loves his mom – which just proves that a) he’s cute AND very wise; b) he makes smart choices; c) he returns the love he’s given and d) he knows that the only way you’re going to write about this adored guy is when he comes back from a life-changing trip or you note how close he and his mom are. I vote for the mom here – and Eric – I’ve got three mama’s boys – and when they marry and switch loyalties as they must – it is a seismic adjustment. Hug on that gorgeous mom of yours Eric – it’s good for both of you!
“I vote for Mom here” – SHOCKING!
Laughing – I knew you’d be surprised!
One of my favorite aspects of blogging is sharing the life’s journey of others. By doing so, I can gleen ideas on how I can make my life better. This is priceless.
I’m with you Ray. The sharing of light and family brings us all closer…it is priceless.

Nice picture. Still waiting for him to grow the mustache.
Ha! He’s been on me to shave mine for 10 years.
Nice to see photos of Mama Hummingbird and your handsome 20-year-old. I have a 20-year-old as well…they grow up fast. Anyway, sweet photos.
Thanks Carol. They do grow up so fast.
Nice!
Is this your good looking son? So glad to see family’s enjoying time together. Have a great weekend. 🙂
He is! Thank you. You too.
Precious pictures!
Great shot, how tall is Mama?
Mom is 5′ 2″. Eric is 6′ 4″.
Lol. That’s a classic! Knowing you you couldn’t wait to post that & wouldn’t be surprised if you blogged it from the restaurant.
Laughing. You are right. I was hounding him all during dinner because he didn’t want to do it. I threatened him with some choice “take-aways.” He consented. 🙂
There are four mama’s boys in this family, David, as you know, so good to see some of your family like this, reminds Bill and me so much of you and all those ball playing days!!!! Hugs to you and your gang!!!
Ahhh, you are right Verna. It does remind me of those days!
He’s a lot taller, and Mum has become smaller! Children have a habit of doing that to their parents! 😉
Laughing, isn’t that the truth!
This is really such a sweet post. Thanks! This week, my ‘older’ friends (ha ha – meaning those whose children are older than mine) have sent kids off to college. And we are all looking back at those photos of 9 year olds and asking: #howdidthishappen?
Smiling. Exactly!
