  • He started May, 26, 1969. Two months before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.
  • He’s run at least one mile every single day for 45 years. 16,438 days straight.
  • Each run has been documented in a daily diary contained in 46 binders.
  • He’s run 190,715 miles.
  • Rain or shine, healthy or sick, strong or weak — he has run. He’s run through 10 broken bones (two toes, two metatarsals, four ribs, a vertebrae and a hip) and arthroscopic surgeries on both knees.
  • When I run, I like to think,” he said.
  • As long as I’m healthy, I’m going to keep going.”

      1. Laughing – you compare yourself to a guy who has been doing this consistently for decades? How about measuring your efforts against someone who a) has the schedule you do and b) beats himself/herself up as much as you do (which in my view qualifies as intense exercise)? Then throw on your sweatpants and pretend you’re “Rocky” running through Philly….

          1. FINALLY!!! I am now a top the steps in Philly, fists pumping, Rocky theme song playing in the background – I always feel that way when I make you laugh and speechless in the same breath. And the crowd goes wild.

  1. Oh WMS, WMS, WMS! Girlfriend is on a roll this morning! And for the record, I am dyin’ to hear the monologue that issues forth from your “Rocky Run,” illustrated please…. 🙂

  2. let’s put it in perspective:

    Baffin Island –

a Canadian island in the Arctic Ocean, between Greenland and N Canada. = 190,000 sq. mi.
