And if the earthly has forgotten
you, say to the still earth: I flow.
To the rushing water speak: I am.
~ Rainer Maria Rilke

It is a brave person who jumps from such a rock into the sea. I, liking my feet firmly on the ground metaphorically do this in life, but never in concrete form being scared of heights. As always metaphorically inspirational.
Alex, I’m with you. Both feet tethered to ground.
one word MAD
🙂
I’ve always found Rilke inspiring, and this photo, well, WOW! I think my leaps will remain metaphorical, thank you very much….
Me too Lori, his work is inspiring. Thank you

I love Rainer Maria Rilke…and the photo combined with the words, well…stunning. Thanks David.
Me too Carol. Thank you.
That person is obviously mentally unbalanced. The outfit contributes to my opinion. Nuts!!!
Ha! Living without fear. Alive! (or Dead)
Rilke’s writing is so deep and one has to meditate on it to fully understand. He’s more like a mystic to me.
It is. Rilke played at a different higher plane.
There is this one poem he wrote about the Jaguar of Panther in cage… gosh, I wish I can remember it. Darn it.
The Panther (Rilke)
His tired gaze–from passing endless bars–
has turned into a vacant stare which nothing holds.
To him there seem to be a thousand bars,
and out beyond these bars exists no world.
His supple gait, the smoothness of strong strides
that gently turn in ever smaller circles
perform a dance of strength, centered deep within
a will, stunned, but untamed, indomitable.
But sometimes the curtains of his eyelids part,
the pupils of his eyes dilate as images
of past encounters enter while through his limbs
a tension strains in silence
only to cease to be, to die within his heart.
You are just awesome. Like, Like LIke. Thank you.:P
Smiling. Thank you!
Wow! I seem to remember being exposed to Rilke on an earlier of your posts. Do you think this person flew?
Riilke is amazing. Of course this person flew!
Crazy wonderful pic. 🙂
It is all that Sylvia…
Terrifying.
For me too Chris.
Bravo! Cliff jumping – my Dream.
Courageous. Not for me.
