Monday Morning Wake-Up Call

On the other hand, you could just relax and realize that, behind all the worry, complaint and disapproval that goes on in your mind, the sun is always coming up in the morning, moving across the sky, and going down in the evening. The birds are always out there collecting their food and making their nests and flying across the sky. The grass is always being blown by the wind or standing still. Food and flowers and trees are growing out of the earth. There’s enormous richness. You could envelop your passion for life and your curiosity and your interest. You could connect with your joyfulness. You could start right now.

  2. Yes and AMEN. I wrote this comment before and when I pressed send, I had no internet for 90′ and my comment had blown away since…..
What a beautiful face this woman has, what contentment and peace she radiates! I’d like to meet her.
Have a beautiful, happy Monday, you all out there! And have a kiss from your thankful friend in France (presently).

      • I for one shall be eternally thankful. Some of my ‘virtual’ contacts I have met in person and some beautiful friendships have made the hopp from virtual to real…. Internet is not important, people are important. Internet is not your friend, people are. But without it we would be infinitely poorer, less informed, forever turning pages in our lexica, dictionaries, newspapers…. So I’m really, really, thankful for the opportunities and great encounters it allows me. I thought of all that during the time of cut-off…. I have so many mails to send, instructions and help to give and only now I can again. So, in short, I shouldn’t be here corresponding with you, dear friend but get to work!!!!! 😉

  4. Love the peace and self acceptance emanating from this passage. Funny that she remarks on the birds. When I am feeling disgruntled or adrift, I often go out and watch the birds. Their cheerful industry re-centers me. Wishing you a happy, self-connected week, pal. Go find that joy!

  12. I’ve always loved Pema’s writing—so clear, so accessible.
It’s so odd that when I’m on the Dark Side of my bipolar moon, all that Life and constancy make it harder instead of easier. But then I remember that my brain makes everything harder.
