Miracle. All of it.

Behind me the sun settles
into the sea but I’m facing
a fire flickering in a great stone
hearth not big enough to roast
an ox, but big enough.
It’s taken the universe fifteen
billion years to get me here
and I find I’m grateful.

  1. yes. grateful for all of it. in contrast to the beauty of hot ball of fire, my post today shows the beauty of the cold. (i can say that, as i’m inside).

  2. Thank you for another year of laughter, learning and reflection, DK. Grateful to have found you and this little community you have built and for the friendships I have found here. Wishing you and Susan a very happy New Year!🎊

Yes, Thank you for everything you do here, David.

Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family. I wish you all the blessings your precious heart desires. And a hearth big enough!

  4. Thank you for your wonderful sharing and the community you have formed! We appreciate you and each other as a result of what you have given. What an image…and poem! The sea seems to call us all back to some barely conscious beginnings.
