Poachers killed this black rhinoceros for its horn with high-caliber bullets in South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Black rhinos number only about 5,000 today.

Lori, these rhinos are living. Check this out. I found this photo to be equally heart-wrenching. This is what we have come to?

I agree. Rhino horn ( I believe) is misguidedly used in traditional medicine some Asian counties. It’s truly heartbreaking…

This one truly was a punch in the gut. I gasped out loud and got sick to my stomach when I saw this. OMG! What horrific acts people can commit.

I feel so powerless and frustrated when I hear/see this kind of thing. We have a similar problem with the bear parts in BC (gall bladders and other parts). Some people are so screwed up!

Only humans act this way.
No other animal is this heartless and senseless.
Horrific!

Very hard to even look at this. I’ve had the privilege to observe a few of these peaceful animals in the wild. There doesn’t seem to be any limit to the human greediness. Sad.

In the city near my hometown, there’s a zoo. In one of its buildings, as a part of an exhibition, there’s a door. On the sign next to it you can read: “The most dangerous animal in the world”. If you open the door, you see….. a mirror. I’m afraid, that, one day, we’ll have to pay for this.

So so sickening. Mankind is destructive. The animals would be much better off without us.

Some days I just don’t get how certain humans can behave like this.

Disgusting. the poachers, their helpers, the groups who finance them, and all those who are recipients of the end product – they all, need to be the ones tracked down to pay for their crimes to the fullest extent of the law. Before the population of rhinos is nothing more than a memory.
