Poachers killed this black rhinoceros for its horn with high-caliber bullets in South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Black rhinos number only about 5,000 today.

incredibly horrific and sad.
Sickening…
Terrible in so many ways.
Yes…
This made me weep. So senseless, so vicious, so very, very sad….
Lori, these rhinos are living. Check this out. I found this photo to be equally heart-wrenching. This is what we have come to?

I agree. Rhino horn ( I believe) is misguidedly used in traditional medicine some Asian counties. It’s truly heartbreaking…
I can’t ‘like’ this one….it is heartbreaking, nauseating and beyond comprehension.
This one truly was a punch in the gut. I gasped out loud and got sick to my stomach when I saw this. OMG! What horrific acts people can commit.
That one…hard to look at. So sad.
But thanks for the N.G. gallery…always amazing ! 💘
NatGeo is amazing Van…

The sad, greedy reality … “Poachers killed this black rhinoceros for its horn with high-caliber bullets in South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Black rhinos number only about 5,000 today.”
I feel so powerless and frustrated when I hear/see this kind of thing. We have a similar problem with the bear parts in BC (gall bladders and other parts). Some people are so screwed up!
They are.
Humans are despicable!
How horribly sad…

Speechless…
Only humans act this way.
No other animal is this heartless and senseless.
Horrific!
Very hard to even look at this. I’ve had the privilege to observe a few of these peaceful animals in the wild. There doesn’t seem to be any limit to the human greediness. Sad.
Sickening. Bordering on hopeless.
*Quanto absurdo! Muita crueldade!
* How absurd! Too cruel!
In the city near my hometown, there’s a zoo. In one of its buildings, as a part of an exhibition, there’s a door. On the sign next to it you can read: “The most dangerous animal in the world”. If you open the door, you see….. a mirror. I’m afraid, that, one day, we’ll have to pay for this.
Truth!
So so sickening. Mankind is destructive. The animals would be much better off without us.
So agree with you Darlene.
A punch in the gut and a dagger in the heart. So sickening and sad.
Some days I just don’t get how certain humans can behave like this.
Yes Val. So agree.
Disgusting. the poachers, their helpers, the groups who finance them, and all those who are recipients of the end product – they all, need to be the ones tracked down to pay for their crimes to the fullest extent of the law. Before the population of rhinos is nothing more than a memory.
So disheartening. I can’t shake the photo out of my head.
deeply, disturbing.
THAT makes me cry… 🙁
This is terrible. Life is dear to them. Why take it away?
Horrible. All of it.
