George Mallory is famously quoted as having replied to the question “Why did you want to climb Mount Everest?” with the retort “Because it’s there”, which has been called “the most famous three words in mountaineering”
I’ve heard that expression, of course. Doesn’t mean it’s logical. I guess some people are easily bored. 😉
I certainly can find other things to do when I’m bored than climbing Everest!

To my eyes, an Interesting photo, the swimmer wouldn’t have had the experience in that location had a boat not opened the ice with force…unveiling.
