Chris·tian (n.)

A Christian is one who is on the way,
though not necessarily very far along it,
and who has at least some dim
and half-baked idea of whom to thank.

– Frederick Buechner, Wishful Thinking: A Theological ABC

  4. Love this quote! and the image… I think we have a kindred spirit when it comes to looking for the right image for a post. Brings a smile… (have I said this before?)

  5. Sounds like the description of a heretic of Christianity. One whose opinions are at odds with the faith, yet are in agreement with the world.
The true Christian knows where he is on his journey toward perfection. For he knows where the starting point is. And he knows who to thank. Because the One who receives him in the end is the same One who started him on his way.

  6. Quote from Beth’s source, Alive on All Channels: The Brooding Itself:

We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.
    — Paulo Coelho, (b. 1947) Brazilian Novelist

I relate to much of Paul Coelho’s writings. Thanks Beth!
