I feel this nearly every morning with my dogs. I get up at 5am to go to work, and it’s too early for them. They don’t even crack a single eyelid as I get ready, they just curl into my husband and the 5 of them snore away. Normally they’d go crazy following me around, but early is early, even for dogs.
Smiling. Our dog is the same with a not-so-minor difference. He recalls the mornings when I would take him for the 5:30am runs. He now snarls at me when I approach the bed on my way off to work. 🙂 Memories (and scars are deep).
This one struck a chord. I’ve got a new blanket on my bed, and my cat seems to think it’s his new girlfriend. His “romancing” wakes me up, shove him off the bed, then rearrange the quilt so that “she” is covered completely against his advances. Sigh.

I try to keep it even. Between Susan and the dog, it’s a losing battle!
