It’s been a long day

book-light-reading-read

she was too tired to feel anything more,
she wanted a book to do to her what books did:
take away the world,
slide it aside for a little bit,
and let her please, please
just be somewhere and somebody else.

  7. Ah yes, the magical powers that rest between the covers. Is there anything better than losing yourself in a book, Only to glance up as though emerging from a trance to realize that hours have passed in the turn of a page? Ohhh, this has got me all fired up for the holiday weekend, a beach chair and a book!! 😄

Yesterday, the 30th was my birthday. I woke up tired. yesterday. I fell into bed at 8:58 pm last night and drifted off about 9:30, thankful for the air conditioning. This heatwave is uncomfortable and hard on the garden. 107 in Boise a few days back. I like what Lev Grossman “take away the world, slide it aside for a little bit,” –oh, I wish that was possible…being under anesthesia or medically induced coma might accomplish that…
