Recall, last august you sent the wsj ‘run 35 minutes a week and live forever’ study – so of course I have been running since then (i hate running). Luckily I like beans…and also i like sleeping. In return, I offer that you should check out yoga nidra. According to those who practice (and sell) it, it’s two or three times as efficient as sleep….something like that. Here is one from an instructor I like: http://karennourizadeh.com/shop/ also I love Yogi Charu. http://saviyoga.com/store/yoga-nidra
The classes are definitely better live, but you can’t beat the convenience of the internet. Karen’s is 20 minutes long v. Charu’s 50. Both teach at pure yoga in nyc.
Here’s to beans, sleep and yoga…happy saturday…

I looked at the chart. I didn’t read the articles that are linked to. I managed three hours of sleep last night. Typically, about five hours…About once a week I take a nap..I won’t drive if I am overly tired..

3 hours. Hmmm. That’s a separate category. 🙂

I wonder how many of the survey participants have Sleep Disorders? Sleep is a precious commodity for me. The lack of sleep curtsey of three sleep disorders (genetics at work) … sometimes this song line is rather apropo :”dragging the line” & or the phrase “The Walking Dead” I will not drive if I feel tired…

Great question. And love the visual of “dragging the line.” Great!

🙂 Ha, not curtsey but courtesy of…I do remember practicing the curtsey when I was a girl…I took a melatonin tablet for the first time, sleep longer,.woke up in a stopper, verdict is still out…

I used to be at the bottom of the 7% crowd for years and years, now graduated to 40%. Much better. I can speak in whole sentences.

Good for you Helen.

My CPAP saved my life.

Sandy Sue so glad you use a cpap. Saved my life as well. I am told I was born with apnea. I had the classic symptoms of childhood apnea. I’ve had several overnight sleep studies and they said they had never seen anyone take to the cpap mask so well ….they always save I am the last to fall asleep and the first to wake up in the sleep disorder unit…losing power at home due to inclement weather is always a concern. How do you deal with loss of power?

Hi David…. writing from France at this time. I have to get 7-8 hours of sleep to keep my body and mind functioning the rest of the day

Awwww, France. Good for you Tina. I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting. I too need 7-8 hours of sleep to function (now to just get it). 🙂 Enjoy your time…wish I could be writing in France at this moment… 🙂
