The sounds of engines leave the air.
The Sunday morning silence comes at last.
At last I know the presence
of the world made without hands,
the creatures that have come to be
out of their absence.
Calls of flicker and jay fill the clear air.
Titmice and chickadees feed
among the green and the dying leaves.
Gratitude for the gifts of all the living
and the unliving,
gratitude which is the greatest gift,
quietest of all,
passes to me through the trees.

It is one of mine now too Bill.
so beautiful, and i love the gratitude quietly passing through the trees.
Exactly. What a close.
Easy to feel a generosity of spirit towards everything this time of year. It is just. So. Beautiful….
Yes, so so beautiful
Amazing!
It is. All of it. Loved it too.
Very good and very beautiful. I love this time of the year. The leaves of a tree seem to put on their makeup and smile as they drop to the ground giving life to others with love.
It is Bill. My favorite time of the year too.
perfect
Beautiful post! Happy Sunday! 🙂
Thanks. Sunday roared into Monday and here we are… 🙂
Indeed. Have a good week! 🙂
Beautiful combination of image and poem! Radiates tranquility. Next Sunday, I’ll be at a lake very much like this, off the grid.
Lucky you Helen…
Gorgeous, David! I hope you have a Sunday that is as serene as this magical photo! Cher xo
I did Cher. I did!
I wish I had written those words!
I don’t even wish. This, this is unachievable for me. I just sit back and breathe it in.
I feel gratitude for all nature’s bounty as I watch the colors of the sky this morning, right before the sun rises.
Well good for you friend.
Loved it.
Thanks Stuart.
