Dance With Me

LIKED it. Enough to watch it 3x. Not sure why. And not sure I fully understood it…all interpretations welcome.

  1. To me, it’s like poetry…where different people can derive different meanings. And the way that I see this video, it seems that every relationship is a dance…it’s kind of what we do through time and as a relationship evolves. Anyway, that’s how I see it. 🙂

    1. yes, I saw part of this, but didn’t necessarily see the hate (deeply anyway). Thanks Lori. I like the razor thin visual…I think that it key to the storyline

  2. Oh, goodness, this is very clear to me, very beautifully done. Mental illness is a dance. Some of us have partners through to the end.

    1. It is beautiful done. I saw the partner. I didn’t necessary fully see the Mental Illness. I’m going to need to watch it again. Thanks Sandy

      1. When they start arguing, she isn’t blaming him. She says something like, “you don’t understand.” Then the deep sadness that he can’t touch. The the jump. The piece starts with the sounds of an ER heart monitor–trying to save her? And the abandoned ballroom speaks (to me) of a celebration cut short. He’s left alone to dance. Some of his movements indicate (again, to me) a disturbance around the head. He dances for her and with her. But, that’s just my 2 cent’s worth.

  3. Impressed me too… as I understand the girl died… the last words (maybe) “dance with me,” in his heart and mind… and he dances with her… There is poetical touches in this film but in the dept, “to want to die” hits sadly… the question why in the screaming of dance… beautiful film, well done. Thanks and Love, nia

    1. Thank you Mia. I had similar questions. Screaming. Why? Loss? Death? Missed Opportunities. And you and Carol both pointing out the poetical touches in this film, I completely missed that. Thanks for sharing.

  4. During an interview yesterday, Augustin Burrows described suicide thusly: not as a desire to kill oneself, instead a desire to end one’s life. Not exactly sure what that has to do with this film, though that is what came to my mind as I watched her unravel.

  5. Quite a haunting but beautiful film! It makes me think of time, and how much it changes things, and sadly not for the better. We have lives like butterflies, over so quickly, but we don’t like to admit it. Everyday should be enjoyed as much as we can. 🙂
