Lightly Child, Lightly.

“And the part about light as a living creature,” he said. “What a beautiful thought. I hadn’t really heard that idea before…It really got me for a second,” he said. “I had to think about it. Is light alive? I mean, it doesn’t excrete anything. It doesn’t reproduce. And yet it gives life, so it must have some kind of life to give…” He’d isolated the ultimate kernel…the very idea that I’d fallen in love with, the idea of light as a kind of amniotic fluid flooding the cosmos.

          1. I assume you live in or near Toronto Laila? I absolutely LOVE Toronto! My favorite aunt and uncle (who have passed away now) lived there, and I visited perhaps 15 times. I have so many happy memories of Toronto. I need to go make some new ones!

Yes… the heat this summer is frustrating, and I fear it is a result of global warming (but of course I can’t prove that). This may just be the new normal, but I certainly hope not!

I think we need to go WAY north! Hudson’s Bay, perhaps? 😉

It’s lovely to hear from you. Thank you for reaching out. Take care – Paul.

          2. I’m smack in the middle of Toronto! Honestly, I can’t wait to get out LOL but I’m glad to hear of your good memories here with your aunt and uncle 🙂 May they rest in peace. Please let me know if you’re ever up here again!

          3. Well, it’s one thing to visit and see some of your favorite people, and quite another to be there full-time. I am also tired of where I live, and I am taking a very hard look at living in a new place… Not sure exactly where yet!

          4. Wishing you all the best with that decision, Paul. Something I’ve considered recently is: if you move somewhere and it turns out you don’t like it, you can always move again. Hope you don’t mind me sharing – I’m sure you know what’s best for you.

          5. No worries at all Laila 😊 I always appreciate hearing ideas from other people! Your thought about “always being able to move again”, I think is a good one.

Moving is not a new idea to me… I’ve been searching for the “right place” casually for the past four plus years. I have concluded that there is no perfect place, but there are certainly places that are more compatible with the way you like to live, than others.

Another thing that I would do if possible is to rent somewhere for at least a couple of months before actually moving.

Have a good night and stay cool!

          6. “There is no perfect place, but there are certainly places that are more compatible with the way you like to live, than others.” So true! I’ll remember that. Thanks, Paul. You have a good night as well 🙂

  1. I see light as a spell cast upon us, it inspires us, reminds us to live, to shine, to awaken, to open our eyes, to have hope, even a sliver, not give up, in our deepest darkness

  2. Light is energy and is everywhere. I believe it to be a manifestation of Source. It connects us to this world and shines into the dark of an other.
