I don’t know what the point is to life, but in the early quiet and the softness of the morning, I am at peace with not knowing.

And maybe therein is the answer – to ‘be’ in the moment rather than anticipating the next…

Ok, now I’m embarrassed…nothing like stating the obvious

I would disagree. If it is so obvious, then why am I and millions of others struggling with it.

Mimi: thanks so much for your comment! It was brilliant, and I desperately needed to be reminded of “living in the present moment” (which I constantly forget. I need to start meditating again!)
“Living in the present moment” is a fundamental (but very elusive) concept that is SO easily forgotten as we go about our daily activities. I have not (yet) read the book Dave references, and your comment came at the perfect time for me! Again, thank you so much!
Dave: absolutely wonderful photo!!

I totally missed this – a delayed thank you tho’ no less sincere… and reminders – even if a bit hyperbolic – can be a reminder when we find ourself running from ‘have tos’ and ‘musts’…at the least we can pause and look around for however long it takes to get to the present…

ANOTHER “pearl of wisdom“ from Mimi… :-).
… which came at the perfect time for Paul!
Hi Mimi :-). I must say THANK YOU once again! Because right at the time I came across this reply from you, I was doing exactly what you described here: I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by my “to do list“ today, and your comment has reminded me to take a breath, pause, and look around!
These kinds of little miracles leave me amazed!
I hope you’re having a lovely day Mimi!!

That wasn’t a “pass” Mimi, that was me speaking honestly. No pass needed!
PS: “garden-variety neurotics”. LOVE that phrase lol. That definitely sounds like me! 🙂

I anticipate much wisdom in these books Dave… My only concern is that because the author is sharing her life, there are going to be “dark times” described in (I assume) a reasonably detailed fashion.
I hesitate to read anything potentially depressing at the moment. The state of the world in general is already giving me more “negativity” than I can cope with. (Sometimes I just have to stick my head in the sand and stop watching the news!) Perhaps I can compensate by reading these books a little at a time.

Oh, I agree Paul. I might take a pause on these diaries. She’s a talent but a grinder with no shortage of self doubt.
