It all matters. That someone turns out the lamp, picks up the windblown wrapper, says hello to the invalid, pays at the unattended lot, listens to the repeated tale, folds the abandoned laundry, plays the game fairly, tells the story honestly, acknowledges help, gives credit, says good night, resists temptation, wipes the counter, waits at the yellow, makes the bed, tips the maid, remembers the illness, congratulates the victor, accepts the consequences, takes a stand, steps up, offers a hand, goes first, goes last, chooses the small portion, teaches the child, tends to the dying, comforts the grieving, removes the splinter, wipes the tear, directs the lost, touches the lonely, is the whole thing.
What is most beautiful is least acknowledged.
What is worth dying for is barely noticed.

💖 I ♥️ that. Couldn’t possibly comment on the maid’s tipping…. I AM everybody’s maid it seems 😉👩🔬
Our World’s Servant!
That’s me 🙂
So very true. Sadly, think some today have lost sight of this. And I love the little tidbit about the red thread, pal. Fascinating…. Make it a great week! 😁
Yes to all Lori. You too….
the distillation of every act as an offering, just for the sake of it
Exactly.
Wow – I love this..(and as an aside, I wear a red string around my wrist at all times)
Wow. You do? Can I ask why?
My mom tied one on my wrist (and my sister’s) at birth – a form of protection (the superstition being that if the string ever breaks, it has served to protect you from some great harm). It’s a Kabbalistic ritual, I think, and the string is called a ‘bindel’ (I think that’s the spelling). Anyway, whenever it breaks, I tie another one on my left wrist – what the heck, a little extra protection can’t hurt…😉
Wow. Now this is SOMETHING.
Why? It’s just a little red string
All those years. And still going. That’s something.
You obviously put some importance to this piece of red string…. Great! Like stories like that one. Merci Mimi

So agree Mimi. Thank you.
Wow – very touching. Thank you for this! Didn’t know about the symbolic thread.
I didn’t either!
I am so deeply moved. Yes.
Yes. Me too Lee.
❤️
Everything is connected and everything matters.
Beautiful Monday morning read.
I too did not know about the red thread — what a beautiful ritual and what a beautiful act of honouring to keep it tied Mimi.
Yes. To all Louise.
How much more love there would be in the world if everyone did these little “nothings” that mean so much more.
So much could be solved, she thinks, if we simply held hands with each other more often.

Indeed… I’ll remember than when we meet, DK 😉
Laughing. This application is for everyone else.
OH. OH. OH. Really? I’ll make sure I wash mine first… 😛
What a wake up call
Sure is!
Beautiful. To make a conscious effort each day to remember this, that’s what matters.
Yes. Intra day as well… 🙂
Love in action…/// made me think of silver cord…
Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
and You know how I love the work of Patty Maher who features some Red Heads…this one in the blue dress has Raggedy Ann doll, Red Straw Hair…
