Our Zeke (December 26, 2007 – September 5, 2016)
Notes:
- Inspired by Pam Houston, Deep Creek: “And if I say, even so, that it has been only the rare human who has given me an animal’s worth of love back, it’s not because I underestimate the power of human love. It’s because I have been lucky enough to live in the unconditional, unwavering, uncommon, gale force of love directed at me from my animals.”
- Post Title & Inspiration: Aldous Huxley: “It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.”
So much love……

Oh my friend, love defines us, informs us and never leaves. And it’s that last part that cracks our hearts. 😔

I sometimes wonder if it’s worth the pain, but apparently it’s “better to have loved and lost….” He was a beautiful dog, inside and out.

I am so sorry for your loss. Animals truely gift us with so much in regards to unconditional love and acceptance. I know for me it is like losing a trusured friend who can never be replaced. My thoughts go out ot you and your pack mates.

I always try to convince myself that my grandpup's *love* is made entirely of domesticated need, un-natural fear, pack loyalty, birth order and instinct… mmhmm.

From time to time I wonder why it is that I take so often out pictures of my dog….. I think I know – it’s their unconditional love, their unwavering trust in you and the fact that they never, ever are anything less than your bestest friend. Your Zeke was an incredible beauty too, although that doesn’t matter, they all are glorious in their own ways.
Is this a commemoration of his death, life…? Are you going to get a new dog at that center you spoke about the other day? Say YES!
