Truth

“What I would do for wisdom,”
I cried out as a young man.
Evidently not much.
Or so it seems.
Even on walks
I follow the dog.

  1. Ooooh, I SEE – THE TIME HAS COME….. for the new long eared baby 🙂

Brilliant words! I so relate to them….. Only in my case, my tiny long-haired beauty pulled me along behind….. the wisdom came MUCH later!

      1. I beg to differ, dear friend. If YOU have not found wisdom, I don‘t know who has….. And even if you didn‘t have wisdom and knowledge in spades, you‘d still be one of my heroes….. Because YOU make me smile, and I LOVE people who make me smile 🙂

  2. I drive by Jim’s studio/museum a few times a month while taking the backroads. I’m afraid to go inside as we continue to downsize and simplify. Alicia would not be pleased if I came with a car load of “Harrison Art”

  3. My dogs are my leaders for sure. I often think they are wiser than I. Love that Jim Harrison wit (and wisdom).

    1. Oh they are wiser…so much wiser. And who was better than Jim Harrison. What a lover of life.

“Barring love, I’ll take my life in large doses alone — rivers, forests, fish, grouse, mountains. Dogs.”

  4. Who better to follow than the dog? He/She will lead you to places you would not consider and allow you to stop and smell the roses as they stop and smell EVERYthing 😉

  5. I can’t think of anything better to do than follow the dog. They help put life into perspective and show us how to enjoy the simple things in life, as well as appreciate the moment 🙂

  6. Great photo! I think you and Susan need to settle in to be grandparents of Racheal’s new pup…

  7. What you won’t be furry baby grandparents- babysitting her pup? Have you held the puppy yet? Girl or boy pup…
