Lightly Child, Lightly.

Light staggers through the trees.
Every moment is filled with other moments…
In the silence that follows
don’t we all have to begin again? At the end of a line, the door
left open for a moment where you can fall in love, remember
what you wanted to forget, forget what you wanted to remember…
We have to light
our dark spaces with the sputtering matches of our words.
We have to follow wherever they lead us. There’s this little
hole in existence we all pass through…

  1. the image and the words, wonderful…the moment for me when I tasted sweetness, of my first kiss under a very tall fir tree, not far from the pond, I was thirteen and life was never the same having emerged with heart fluttering excitement he held my hand and we walked through the park…so much of life ahead…the park & trees so integral in my life…and much wonder left in this world to discover…/// I ran into the curly headed boy years later on the bus we were both on summer break from college, we meet for lunch out side in the plaza square, it was a nice meet-up, it was the last time I saw him, he passed away at 22 or 23 from a brain tumor, if I’d known he was ill I would have visited him, maybe he didn’t know he was ill at that point…so bittersweet, and I think of how he graced me with his care as we shared a milestone of life…
