Wow, also jealous. Poor dad, you might like the Rebecca Solnit book The Faraway Nearby, her essay on her time in Iceland is wonderful. But mostly i want the pony!

I loved the Solnit’s book. I’ll work on getting you the pony!

Last summer, my daughter and I embarked on a fourteen-day road trip following the famed Route 1 that rings the Iceland. Changed our lives.

Wonderful! I wonder what time of day the first photo was taken b/c it made me think of “the land of the midnight sun.” And oh that pony, all fuzzied up for winter. The Northern Lights took me home again — and the colors are delicious. I hope he is having a wonderful experience there – is he visiting, in school, what? 🙂 Neat! MJ
