“A baby dolphin earns its jumping stripes as it swims alongside its mother and leaps out of the water next to her. The dolphin calf was virtually stuck to its mother’s side as they swam before simultaneously jumping a metre out of the water near the Sao Miguel Island of the Azores region, Portugal.”

Now THIS is a synchronized swim team!
They are!
Such beautiful, wondrous creatures!! I’m coming back as a dolphin in my next life…..
Me too….
What a beautiful shot of being in the moment! Thank you, David.
It is Theresa. Amazing shot.
I wonder how Mom signals that? Subsonics? Body language? So cool.
Yet another miracle on this wild blue planet.
We live on a blue planet
that circles around a ball of fire
next to a moon that moves the sea,
and you don’t believe in miracles?

Mothers and babies naturally sync together. Human infant sleep patterns mimic the mothers if they co-sleep…this means longer periods of rest for mom and baby. Nature is amazing!
It is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
A very synchronous theme for me David. The dolphins showed prominently at a recent retreat I attended. So lovely they are and so cooperative in their nature.
Loved this picture the moment is crossed my eyes and had to share. I agree Debra. Synchronicity, harmony, peace for me too…
They are incredible creatures, and this is an incredible shot. Thank you.

Love this, and I swear – I see a mischievous look in the young dolphin’s eye…like, ‘look ma, no hands!’ 🙂 Beautiful shot!
Smiling. Just like Nemo….
Wow!! I wonder if my granddad ever saw such a sight before he left the Azores to become a farmer in Massachusetts.
Hope he did, would have been an incredible sight.
Beautiful image. Lovely.
