  1. Laughing – it really is true!! Contort one’s self into a pretzel, negotiate your way into some semblance of recline. Feel your limbs beginning to object to having diminished blood flow. And the dogs are just fine with it.

    1. That’s so true. Last week, I had a foot cramp so bad (because I was contorted…), I cried out. He jumped up, looked around, saw everything was ok, and rolled in a ball and went back to sleep. Oh, a dog’s life.

  2. Dave: Gonna have to “go against the grain” on this one. Dogs (all animals for that matter) are much happier if they have their own space – a favorite rug or the warm stone floor in front of the fireplace. Sharing a space with their human companions is not a a natural behavior for our four-legged friends. Lucy “owns” the floor and is very happy.

    1. Ahhhh yes Pete. A dog owner that does it right. Last night, I crawled into bed to have our Zeke growl and snap at me. Believe he thought I was going to move him. We’ve created a monster. And I don’t have the heard (or head) to break him of it…

    1. Zeke with us since he was 9 weeks old. He’ll be 6 on December 26th. He does own the bed. And I think he would have a breakdown if he sleep anywhere else. I completely get it Carol. Totally get it.

      1. Bella just turned six in July. You and I have both had quite a few years of going through this. I agree, Bella would be incredibly distraught if I tried to force her to sleep elsewhere. I will never do that. I love my warm friend too much.

  3. Oh yes, I remember my family dog when I was teenager, if she was lucky enough to sleep on the end of my bed ( a rare occasion) she took over the bottom half of the bed, and if I so much as moved and dislodged her in any way – boy would she grumble and complain!! 😀
