Who Binds You?

wind, flow

Who binds you?
A monk asked Seng ts’an, “Master, show me the way to liberation.”
Seng ts’an replied, “Who binds you?”
The monk responded, “No one binds me.”
Seng ts’an said, “Then why do you seek liberation?”

  1. I was going to be snarky and say ‘my orthopedic surgeon does’ – but I was swept away by the imagery and the quote. Gorgeous.

  2. My comment, nowhere near elegant as it should be,but I am stunned by the image/words and the combination, so here goes, holy cow!

  3. P.S. Haven’t been able to make a comment on your blog for ages because of this WordPress nonsense and dysfunction that’s been going on – but today it seems to be resolved! I may be speaking too soon though!! 😉
