“Two divers had just been scuba diving at Souza Rock, two miles off Morro Bay in Central California. They were merely passing time before the next scuba dive by snorkeling among sardines and other life in the area. They had cameras and a safety rope, and hoped to get shots of humpbacks in the distance. “When we got in, the whales were about a quarter of a mile away.” Humpback whales feed on shrimp-like krill and small fish, which are ingested in large volumes with sea water. The water is expelled through baleen plates. In this case the whales were clearly after the sardines, using vertical lunge-feeding techniques to catch the fish. But humpback whales weigh up to 40 tons and the whales…”

Wow! Crazy. There’s an experience of a lifetime!
Yes, insane, a few more feet and they would have been an appetizer for the wondrous beast.
Um … yeah .. holy sh*t is right!
Wow!
Out there, you’re basically … a bath toy!
MJ
Exactly!
They could have been eaten along with the fishes.
Yes, that would have been a bad outcome for them. 🙂
Wow…shock and awe is right!!
Isn’t it though!?
WOW! And look at all those birds.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I didn’t even notice the birds until you pointed them out Francine!
Look out Jonah! Way too scary for me…
Laughing. No kidding Jonah!
We have seen some people who think it’s cool to swim with killer whales. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Exactly. And I have a sneaking suspicion they guys baited this on….
Most likely!
Lucky their boat didn’t get overturned. Also, wild animals are essentially just that – wild. hildI’ve swum with seals in a sanctuary and even they like to take a nibble, which I’m sure they view as playful, but it doesn’t half pinch when they nip at one’s bare legs. Even when they’re not trying to be aggressive, they might hurt you by mistake.
I take Krill as a supplement (sustainably sourced, of course). Perhaps I’ll turn into a whale one day 😉
Seals, Humpbacks – generally and directionally in the same family. Yes, a nibble might prove to be wicked…:) Laughing on the Krill supplement…
“You’re going to have to do more than must clean that wet suit” – um, yes!!!
I keyed in on the same line, Mimi! I think I probably would have had a massive MI right there by the boat. Stick a fork in me, I’m done…. 😉
Me too. I can’t imagine what it would look like to see this creature coming at you underwater. MASSIVE>
What a treat for those guys! Of course, it could have been the other way around.
🙂 So True.
I am unable to watch this video, but I often have been the witness to the magical experiences that nature can deliver at the most random times. All around us nature is a living and manifesting, we sometimes stumble upon one of those instant magical moments.
These giant creatures were exactly that Alex, magical.

Love this…. how would you know, in the moment of confronting this, that you’re actually too big for these whales to swallow? Answer – you wouldn’t! wow…
Thanks for sharing Makere. I wouldn’t take the chance that we’re too big for these guys…seems like we could be an appetizer
Yikes!!! Not for me…
Not for me either Tina…
