A Bird Ballet

So, you’ve seen 1 murmuration, so you’ve seen them all? Hmmmmm. No. Can’t seem to get enough. This team was shooting a commercial in Marseille France and waiting for their prop – – “when thousands and thousands of birds came and made this incredible dance in the sky.” And just look what they captured.  2.5 minutes of magnificent cinematography and music (“Hand-Made” by Alt-J).  Good Thursday morning.

  1. that was exquisite… like poetry in motion! and the music… who is that singing! I love that stirring tone in his voice. You are a sensitive soul David, with very good taste. What do you do for a living? or is that pushing the blogging boundaries of confidentiality?

  3. Awesome share, Dave. Can’t pick just one word to describe it — and even then, together, they don’t seem to come close enough — but here are a few:

stunning, arresting, bewitching, beguiling, graceful, elegant, magnificent . . .

  4. Simply stunning. When I watched this I thought of my own site. This is truly WeMoveTogether,. Now imagine the same on Terra Nova and people moving as such. Birds and nature has much to teach us.

  6. I LOVE the way they dissolve and coalesce again–so graceful, indeed like a ballet as you say. And watching them, I felt like I was taking a Rorschach test administered by Mother Nature–ooohh, there’s an amoeba! Wow, what a mountain range! Hey, did you see that chicken?! (sorry, had to throw that in for Mimi….). Wonderful share, David–thank you! 🙂
