Here’s Glen Hansard with The Brooklyn Youth Chorus singing Hansard’s new song titled “The Gift.” Be sure to also check out Hansard and his co-star Marketa Irglova in the movie Once which earned them the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Falling Slowly” along with 10 other major award nominations. Great song and great flick.
This gift will last forever
This gift will never let you down
Some things are made from better stuff
This gift is ready to be found
Just you believe it now

I’ve been told this is the bonus track on his new album – and many consider it to be his best song on the album.

Love it! David, you did it again. Introduced me to a new artist. I am one of those people who loves songs and then can never remember who sang it. I wrote Glen’s name down because I now need to listen to more of him. BTW .. have you seen the movie? I haven’t and am planning on going next weekend.

Thanks Laurie. Are you referring to the movie “Once”? If yes, I did. I highly recommend it. If you are referring to “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” – no I have not…

Yes. I would say it was a total coincidence that I tripped into this song and my post for you earlier on the same day. But then maybe not!
