Books, Books, Books

Thank you Maureen at Magnolia Beginnings for presenting me with The Booker Award. It’s a tall order to list my top 5 books of all time (so I’m giving you 11).  And, I’ve excluded “self-help”, “business” and “autobiographies” from this list.  Here we go:

My nominees for The Booker Award are listed below.  If you choose to participate, the rules of the award are to: 1) Nominate 5-10 bloggers and let your recipients know. (2) Post The Booker Award picture. (3) Share your top 5 books of all time.

Congratulations!

  1. Ohhhhh, CONGRATS David, and thank you for an intriguing list! I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t read a one of these (!), but that will soon change, ’cause if they made your list, they warrant examination! 🙂

      1. I know! Mimi passed this award to me recently, And I, too, have been perserverating about the list. I will get to it soon, though, as I love seeing what others are reading. Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh geesh, now I feel so inadequate..your list is truly awesome. I haven’t read them all, but I have read some and they were fantastic. I knew you would have outstanding recommendations – and you do!

      1. It’s so true..and there are some books that still transport me – though in a much different way than they did when I was younger..

  3. Great list David and thanks for the award. I am a huge Saramego fan so there is a good chance one of his books will end up on my list when I figure out how to narrow it down!

  4. Great list, David. Very thoughtful and such wonderful books. I keep thinking of all of the books I should have included. There are just too many. Thanks for letting us peek at your book shelf.

  5. Your posts are always somewhat humbling, Dave! I’m with Lori here – I haven’t read one of these – although Confederacy of Dunces has been on my list of books-to-read for years. Maybe now I’ll get to it.

  6. […] David Kanigan has kindly nominated me for the Booker Award. This means I am to list five of my favourite books and enlist five to ten bloggers to do the same. It’s a bit like a chain letter (which I don’t normally do), but it’s a wonderful way to find out what people consider good reading, and a way to build up my own reading list. […]

  7. David – thanks for the nomination. This award works for everyone to help us find new books to read. I love it. I will add my list and will explore other lists folks post.
