“Silence
It has a sound, a fullness.
It’s heavy with sigh of tree,
and space between breaths.
It’s ripe with pause between birdsong
and crash of surf.
It’s golden they say.
But no one tells us it’s addictive.”

Brings to mind the suspense novel Undercurrents by Frances Fyfield – the rich, dark atmosphere but with something beautiful underneath and winning out in the end.
Interesting. I can see now how one can see the dark atmosphere. I only saw the peace and silence. One photo – 2 very different perspectives.
Silence. A mesmerizing thing. The space between.
I love this post.

This is just the antidote I need right now. Thanks, David. It’s time to head out to the river, in solitude. 😀
