          1. Winter has hit hard very early this year. We have stayed below freezing for a couple of weeks, and the wind chill has gotten well below zero. I have been spoiled by mild winters in recent years, which I assume have sadly been caused by global warming. In recent years, we have been bouncing above and below freezing, so we get three or 4 inches of snow, and then a week later, I can see grass again. This year… I have not seen grass since early November.

          2. Apologies for rambling here, but I think part of my problem is that I have done very little traveling in my life… New England, Florida, California… That’s about it. I did not choose this, it is simply the way my life has unfolded. Traveling is very high on my bucket list, and I look at real estate listings in different parts of the country almost every day. I just need to take breaks from the long Vermont Winters from time to time.

          3. Ha! I lived in Florida for six years. It is the only time I have moved away from Vermont in my lifetime. Florida is too hot for me even in the winter (actually it’s the humidity that kills you.)

I’d like to spend the rest of the winter in Eureka, California, which is way up north near Oregon on the coast. Temperature basically stays between 60 and 75° year-round. That’s perfect for me. And it is far far north of the craziness that is: “The Bay Area”.
