I also painted a study of a seascape, nothing but a bit of sand, sea, sky, grey and lonely—sometimes I feel a need for that silence—where there’s nothing but the grey sea—with an occasional seabird. But otherwise, no other voice than the murmur of the waves.

I need a LOVE button!!! The photo is beautiful and evokes so much emotion – complemented by Van Gogh’s words
Thank you Mimi!
Thank you this calm today 🥰
My pleasure Val. Thank you.
They had a very close relationship and I beleive Theo helped him with his mental illness. I love Van Gogh and his contemporaries at the time. It’s my favorite genre of art. I even took a college class at SMU about the Impressionist period. 🙂
I wish I had taken a college class to do the same. Thanks Melinda.
I took a couple of college courses at the local college only had 9 credits. The class at SMU, A major uni, was a 6-8 week course but it was a big leap for me in gorwing into what I wanted my life to look like. My grandparents didn’t have the money so I never showed an intrest in going to college. Thank goodness I could sale and made my living doing that, made some damn good money at the top of my career. So glad I was able to stop working in 2005 to take care of my Granny. I don’t miss the BS one bit!
Nice!!!!!

Where did you get your degree?
Northern Michigan U for undergrad. And Northwestern University for Grad School.
>
Interesting that you went to school in Michigan, how did that come about?
Hockey Scholarship. And that’s where I met Susan.
Hokey, of course. It worked out perfect because you met Susan.
It did!

Cool and peaceful. The very opposite of a hot, noisy summer afternoon at Disneyland (I would imagine – never been there).
I’ve been there. You are absolutely right!
Beautiful photo.
Lovely pairing of photo and quote.
Thank you Laila.
