  3. Hey Wally, rather than feeling a tad embarrassed by the donut around your neck, just think of how soft it is in comparison to the original donut. I say this with a bit of personal experience. We have one of those soft donuts too, and yeah they’re bulky, but not heavy, and they feel better all in all. I think your mom gave you the best alternative to the plastic cone-of-shame and you’ve earned a bit of pampering. It’ll be off soon enough, little one..

  5. Think positive Wally! Remember, you have a wonderful family who love you, and are taking excellent care of you. (Even if it’s not always fun)!

    Remember the foot baths… They feel great, right? Next time ask for a “full body massage“! And you’re getting tons of extra attention from mom! There’s a little bit of sunshine among all these clouds 🙂 This will be over before you know it!

    PS: Tell mom and dad you want a Montréal Canadiens sweater to wear this winter! The Canadians are the best!

    PPS: Ask dad if he remembers a hockey player named John Leclair. If he does, I’ve got a fun quick story to tell you 🙂

    PPPS: Tell dad and Eric that those donut photos are not A.I. !! Those are called photos with “background wallpaper“! A.I. is a BAD word! If you hear it again, I want you to bite that person on the foot (I mean sock) as soon as you get a chance!

    You’re going to be fine! Think of this experience as a little vacation from your normal routine! At least for now you don’t have to take walks in the mud and rain! Isn’t that awesome? Hang in there buddy!!

      1. Hi Wally… Dad knows that all kids are “cash sink holes”. So just ignore that comment and don’t feel guilty! He knows this because he has other children… And you are the latest! I believe that when mom and dad brought you home a little over a year ago, that they knew EXACTLY what they were getting into! They also know that you are worth every single penny that they spend on you 1 million times over! Because you can’t put a price on the love that you, mom, and dad share!

        So ignore dad’s whining about money! He needs to do that to keep his sanity because we all need to vent our frustrations! But he also knows (he just won’t say it :-)… That you are PRICELESS!

        Wait until Christmas to ask for that Canadians sweater! Everyone loves spending money to give gifts at Christmas!

  8. Have to say that all my pooches survived the old fashioned hard plastic cones of shame…. They knew it was necessary and persevered. It was character building to prepare for tougher times in the future. I think it’s either a generational or Scottish thing.

  9. oh boy, I couldn’t see this post because on my iPad and phone I only got fb…. and I don’t do fb. so to me, i couldn’t get those less than exciting news until now that i’m – for a short bit – on my laptop.
    poor, poor baby! you really wanna do it all, but on the bright side (for us readers), that donut thing is hilarious. never knew that they exist! hope you’ll get one really good one once you can shake that thing off. my dog also made a huge fuss every time she had to wear a plastic cone – and as she was a real action girl (or rather imbecile), she got to wear it a few times. it was ME who suffered the most, i think, but then, dogs didn’t have blogs, and the word didn’t even exist, so maybe she felt hard done by just like you.
    it will get better soon though – keep the moral up!

  10. Oh, Wally…I’m sorry that you have an ouchie…are you sure about this statement? ” zero extra treats” is dad sneaking some of your yummies? looks like Mom is taking good care of you. I know that there was a debate, long ago and I do like your name “Wally” (Like that Wally Cleaver the Romeo & Wally Gator) and the name “Boss” was considered as well. Now you of course you are “Wally” and officially climbing the corporate ladder to becoming the “Boss” even-though I’ve thought all along that you are the “Boss” of cuteness…pulling for to soon have the ouchie, healed…
