Lightly Child, Lightly

To be held
by the light
was what I wanted,
to be a tree drinking the rain

  1. This is so beautiful, David. And here, too, it is raining (Do I run? Not sure but in the absence of being held by a human, maybe I shall drink up the rain…)

      1. You obviously don’t have MY hair. I say Rain, Humidity, Fog or even only think Mist….. and I look like having put my finger into a socket! Apart from *I’m NO longer running* syndrome….

  2. I find it harder to go out for a run if it is already raining before I start. If I am running and it begins to rain during the run, it is one of the most enjoyable experiences for me. Of course, I live in Florida where the rain is generally warm. And I agree, David, the reward lies in how my body feels afterward. I hope you are getting out onto the pavement.

    1. OMG, running in Florida, nothing like it Carolann. We lived in Miami for 10 years and it was heavenly. I haven’t run in a week or so, and it’s time….

But along comes a guy with a power saw. I think I’d rather take a glass of water and sit on my sunny deck. (I’m just kidding, DK. It’s very nice. I’m just adding the perspective you’ve come to expect from me.) And anyway, being a tree, it’s just like being sentenced to permanent social distancing; you can never go anywhere.
