TGIF: Surf Line!

“A very special guest graced the lineup at Black’s Beach in San Diego this past Saturday taking a break from its migration south to Mexico.” Gray Whales reach a length of 50 ft and weigh up to 36 tons, and live between 55 and 70 years.

  1. truly breathtaking – and mind blowing – BUT I’ve a question: Is this beauty sick that it’s swimming SO CLOSE to the strand (the waves rolling out and in right next to it)?

      1. Dave, how can we find out? That was truly my first thought! How would such a creature be so close to the shore if it hadn’t a serious problem?!
        Now, I need to know….

  2. Love your posts and this video is amazing omg which leads into an orca with swimmer video- also amazing!

  4. Entrancing…what a planet we share with so many amazing creatures! May his/her journey go well. [I wish someone could follow the progress]

  5. Enjoyed this beautiful video…while on vacation, privileged to either stand or sit and watching the whales feed and live as they stay in the surf and coves, they stay for while getting their fill, as they migrate past
