🙂 oh the joy…. I feel for you and the lack of hair! You have plenty qualities to make up for ‘this’

Why does this photo and excerpt seem so bleak to me? …then I feel empathy for all the women whose lives are curtailed and ruled by religious and cultural laws. Signed, Debbie Downer

Bleak!?!?! OMG. Let me send you some positive juju over the wires!

Those look like sandhills (which I love to see flying over). I suppose I would agree with Valerie that the photo seems bleak, but the fact that these cranes are in it makes it a happy trigger for beautiful memories for me.

Bleak???!!!!!! Are we looking at the same image?! But, yes, agree, Cranes are amazing…

Yes, bleak, except for the cranes and possibly the person. Not a blade of grass in sight.

And the hair thing is more important for women, but I don’t mind baldness on a man at all. Is the real hair quote a reference to cancer and chemo treatments? In that case I understand why it is significant, but still – it’s only hair.

No, no reference to chemo. A passage in book with she was self-reflecting and with a shot of gratitude.

Yes, but where does that leave people who have thin or little hair? Depends whom she’s comparing with. It’s a bit vain if she’s comparing her hair status with that of others. If she’s comparing to herself, hairless in the past, then okay, be overjoyed.

Leave people with thin hair? Right here on my head!

It’s what’s on the inside that’s more important. I remember one of our guests gasping when another (good-looking) guest took his cap off and she saw that he was bald. Disappointed in her, I shook my head and thought, “How shallow you are.”

Yet, now I stare a picture and re-read the quote, I can see the connection with cancer (there was not but I see it now). Genius, you are Anneli.

Must admit, I saw someone recovering after chemo and living beyond cancer in this post. Not depressing, Its just so darn good to be alive. Nothing more. Nothing less. 🙏

Gosh, am I THAT shallow? Or just naïve? Or both? I never thought of cancer and loosing one’s hair although I should know better….. God, now I don’t like that photo any more…. and I’m sad for not having seen further than just the simple, maybe even a bit nostalgic beauty.

I never thought of cancer either. And then…
