Where do they come from, thoughts?
Like wrens, out of the sky.
They arrive.
Noisy, hungry, perfectly themselves.

interesting how they sometimes leave almost as quickly as they arrive, and without warning
Yes, and some stay and stay and stay.
yes, and they are terrible night guests
Ha. so true!
And some thoughts return again and again, like chickens coming home to roost.
so true!
Love this!
There are song thoughts, and thoughts of prey.
Yes!
They can be every so weird, so smart, so funny, so thoughtful, so annoying… They come and go and so love to flitter about at inappropriate times, like when you’re trying to sleep… 😉
Yes, how wonderfully stated!

‘Where do they come from, thoughts?’ …. Peter Behrens, from The Law of Dreams: A Novel … a great question!!
Let’s choose our birds…
Oh, isn’t that the truth!
Recently I asked if you had declared your spirit bird yet…you hadn’t – perhaps by default your bird is a Seagull? – you wrote about Seagulls in your “Cross Town Walk” and now you post a photo of a flock of Seagulls… there is a book called “Seagull” by Johnathan Livingston ….the Seagull teaches of life and flight, (growth and transcending to letting go and Light) he “models individualism, creativity, courage, and generosity” he grows through his encounters and helps other just like you who enlightens with humor, intellect, observations, kindness, joy, gentleness, openness and in a non-judgemental manner,..Just a thought.
Nice background on “Seagull” – thanks for sharing. Still waiting for my Spirit Bird! 🙂
This is a question I ask myself often – and often I wonder HOW come I have THESE thoughts…. beautifully stated in this few words and matched with a lovely photo. I have gulls scuba diving around the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, in winter…. (on Flickr).
Gulls diving around Cathedral…must be something to see….
