Rain falls
on our tin roof; sharp taps of reality,
start and stop. I breathe myself back
into my body.

“Just as teardrops, when they are large and round and compassionate, can leave a long strand washed clean of discord, the summer rain as it washes away the motionless dust can bring to a person’s soul something like endless breathing.”

@Sawsan; one of my most loved books! Terrific quote – how do you people do that? I have a list as long as my (short) body with quotes I’d like to cite and when it comes to it, I’m never ever ready….. Amazing, friend! Tell me, if you don’t mind, is that your real name: Sawsan? It sounds so exotic to my Swiss ear? Are you an American Indian? Or is it made up? 🙂

@ Kiki, I don’t mind 🙂. Sawsan is my real first name. I’m of Middle Eastern origin, born to Arab Palestinian parents. One half Turkish, one half Russian. The name is Persian but common where I come from. ‘Sawsan’ is a flower, the wild iris.
When I read something that touches me deep I have a tendency to hand write it. And now we have apps to use for saving and easily finding our notes. I’m a very forgetful person otherwise. ❤💋

Thank you Sawsan, for this in-depth reply. I’m satisfied…. And I’m one of the world’s last writers too. I DO handwrite much, cards, letters, little notes – but I don’t have all the uncontrollable stuff I ever wrote, noted, at hand when needed….. Seem to be not so terribly well organised after all! 🙂

We’ll be wishing for this when we’ve had weeks of drought and heat.

A wonderful gif with a beautiful quote. We’re already, after quite too much rain and storms in a short period, in the midst of a serious heatwave and I’d be rather happy to see some (gentle, enduring, soothing) rain here!!!!
A very gifted and sharp-minded poet; sent myself the link to her works. I repeat my question to Sawsan: Just how do you guys always find such perfect matches ????? It’s beyond beautiful, a wonder to me and a delight to detect every day (or so….). Thanks for it all.
