There is a wind blowing from the east, in from the sea, and it is laden with rain, pattering against the roof. It is as if a wall were standing open: the long, beautiful summer has ended, and everything rushes towards autumn. The leaves drop from the trees, the colours drift from green towards yellow and brown, the air smells of soil.
It feels good.

Breathe deeply, savor each sip of coffee…this moment – perfect.
That’s it. Inhale. Take it all in.
Very well put, with a lovely photo to complement the thoughts!
Thanks Marlan. He’s brilliant.
I wish I could pour Autumn in a glass and drink it. But it’s the other way around. It drinks us.
Beautiful photo and yes he’s brilliant.
Yes. To all.
it all happens in a ‘whoosh!’
Doesn’t it though.
I love the words and the picture. Autumn does smell good … I agree 🙂
Hi Sarah. Yes. The smell.
What a beautiful picture you paint with both words and graphics
They are both beautiful. Thank you Ingrid.
It’s the seasonal scent that most agrees with me. And that photo…Yes.
Yin and Yang! Yes!

Inhale deeply the scents of my favourite season…
Inhale. That’s it Dale. Thanks.
It does feel good!
It does!
Love Autumn, David; it’s my favourite time of year.
We have a couple of deciduous trees in our front yard. The changing colours of the leaves, before they fall, are splendid, to say the least. Of course, we are experiencing Spring in Oz presently; my second favourite! 🙂
Spring in Oz. That has a ring. I’d love to bounce from autumn to spring and back again.
It does feel good. Time to get outside and swing my head around a bit!
Exactly!
Beautiful picture!
It is!
