One of the gifts of working for a non-profit is to experience first hand people’s generosity. Not every rich person is selfish and greedy. There’s a lot of money out there going to causes like this one. Although it’s doubtful that every story can have a happy ending, because of our cultural generosity, more do.
Sadly, there are many dogs like this in Mexico. Another group that does great work down there out of the Bay Area is Compassion Without Borders–www.cwob.org
It’s hard to understand how the original owners could watch such suffering…but thank goodness for the kindness and compassion of wonderful people in this world. No living being should have to suffer in such a way. Such a sweet and beautiful dog.
Animal cruelty is just too hard for me to watch. Even with the happy ending, this will haunt me for a while and make me shy away from people. What’s wrong with human beings?
My little Jack Russell, Pomeranian cross ‘Beaux’ looked not unlike this little fellow when he arrived 18 months back. He was a little rescue who had suffered Parvo Virus – almost died, of course. Now he’s a strapping little hunk of a dog – a bit timid, though in comparison is now a superdog. They just want to love, and to be loved. 🙂
