It’s a memory I’ve hoarded for twenty-odd years
and still claim in moments of déjà vu when time stops,
its seed case cracks open, as a storm cracks open,
a whole summer happens in one hour, and I know again
what Plato’s paradise of souls awaiting rebirth is made of:
birdsong, thunder, green, cicadas, and heat.

Thanks for sharing Dr. Rex.

Summer is waiting a bit before it hits us on Vancouver Island. It’s 12 degrees right now. I’m sure it will warm up.(Can’t get much cooler – except it was 11 this morning. )
12 C. Wow. That’s cool.
It’s 2:27 p.m. on the first day of summer and it has climbed to 17 degrees. Just wait, when the heat wave hits I’ll be griping too.
Enjoy summer, David, you’ve earned it!
Thanks Carolann. You too.
