“There it is; the light across the water. Your story. Mine. His. It has to be seen to be believed. And it has to be heard. In the endless babble of narrative, in spite of the daily noise, the story waits to be heard.
Some people say that the best stories have no words. It is true that words drop away, and that the important things are often left unsaid. The important things are learned in faces, in gestures, not in our locked tongues. The true things are too big or too small, or in any case always the wrong size to fit in the template called language.”

Wonderful post. For a writer to say words drop away…well, perhaps. But the blogosphere is a vast ocean of people who never truly meet, so words must have the expression, the gestures, the un-locked tongue. Words convey deep passions, joys, sorrows, pain, hope…without them, we are mute. Thanks for being such a faithful follower of my blog, as I am yours. Dennis from http://www.dlmchale.com
So true Dennis. I love your work. Wonderful. Dave
When the words drop away, and the heart is revealed…that is the best story of all.
Yes.
There it is. There we are.
There we need to be.
You can read a lifetime in a face…and kindness can be seen and felt in a person’s eyes, in a person’s embrace, in the caress and touch of love. It is true…sometimes there are no words, and sometimes words fall away from the truth of what can simply be seen and felt.
Yes Carol. I agree.
This is what am trying to figure out: to speak or to stay quiet? I guess we need to have a balance of both am not sure. Quietness is very loud.
Moderation in all things! 🙂
And sometimes the quiet is uncomfortable, so we fill it with words (maybe unnecessary words).
Yes. And many are uncomfortable with quiet…
