She’s so lucky to have had such a supportive partner and wonderful medical care. Liked this story a lot. Reminds us all of how you don’t really appreciate what you’ve got until it’s gone…..including music.

I’ve heard that one of the ways TB is spreading again (especially in cities) is because of this “new” habit some people have of spitting on the sidewalk. When the spit of an infected person evaporates the TB bacilli go into the air and others inhale them. I’ve always thought spitting was a dirty habit but here is a good reason to steer clear of people who spit.

Very moving, and a scary reminder that TB can hit ANYONE. They’ve recently been doing a series of reports on NPR about the resurgence of this disease–really unnerving….
