I love Chicago.
And the photos are amazing!
Yes, I was awestruck by these photos. Incredible.
What happier times have we experienced than in this locale? Who would have thunk it, and what do we more appreciatively know now?
Oh those shots are breathtakingly beautiful…
Yes Soma. I came across them 3-4 months ago and told myself that I need to use them after a trip to Chicago. That time came yesterday.
Fantastic photos!! Love Chicago. Thanks to you & Susan for the great opportunity to live with all of you and experience so much. Part of my life that I always will cherish.
I forgot all about the time you stayed with us Bro. That was quite an experience for you. I need to keep a diary. Wonderful times like that one are vanishing from my memory.
Your post was like walking down the memory lane.. 🙂
Thank you. For me too! It’s interesting how evocative sights, sounds, smells and tastes experienced years ago just roll out of our minds with such ease. That’s how it felt writing this post. I couldn’t have taken but 5 minutes.
My hometown! You hit almost all the reasons why I love n live here! 🙂
Ahhhhhh. What did I miss?
a delayed response, but the CUBS!!! 😛 i’m a north-sider if you can’t already tell! hehe!
OMG. What a glutton for punishment. You poor thing. Why pollute the beautiful images above of Chicago with that hapless bunch? 🙂
Fabulous trip down my own memory lane – but for Evanston Hospital (which is reason enough for you to love Chicago).
Thanks Mimi. I hadn’t known you spent much time in Chicago.
Yes, we had an office in what is now Willis Tower..was there very often over twenty two years..From a travel perspective, it was pretty intense. But the cities where we were located around the world were pretty cool..
Freshly Pressed. World Traveler. Is there anything you haven’t done or accomplished?
Chicago is my kinda town too! Trivia question; in what movie did Frank Sinatra sing “My kinda town”? No googling!
And the answer is: http://toddlohenry.com/2012/09/29/my-kind-of-town/
Lay-up Pal!
I also lived in Chicago for five years (in the 90s). Thanks for the lovely walk down memory lane.
Hi Brenna. Thank you. I love Chicago. I enjoyed the little time I spent there. It brought back many warm memories.
I’ve never been to Chicago. Is it really “The Windy City?”
Not more than any other City…but there’s some history behind the name. Here’s some color: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_the_name_%22Windy_City%22
Beautiful photos, especially the aerial view of the downtown street. You’ve got a great blog!
Thanks John. I appreciate it. Yes, when I tripped into the photos, they screamed Chicago…Thanks for dropping by.
