Dear Santa…

Wally said that while he is grateful for the itchy and awful holiday sweater that Mom bought for him for Christmas, he has pleaded with me to write Santa and tell him that we can do better than this given how great he has been all year. We’re working on it.

  1. Merry Merry Christmas, Wally. You have been a very good dog, entertaining us all year long. We hope you get all kinds of delicious presents. Hugs, Darlene, Dot and Lia. ā¤ļøšŸ¶šŸ¶

  2. psssssst! (whispering)… Wally…don’t forget, you’ve got that hockey tape stashed away. So if mom and dad start being “naughty instead of nice”… You know what to do! But I’m pretty sure they’ve got you covered! Most of the time they are pretty awesome, right?

So hang in there. I think you’ll be fine. But in an emergency, at about 3 AM December 26, you should execute “operation tape attack!”.

Let me know how it goes!
    And Wally…MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Everyone who reads your dad’s blog knows that you are “TOP DOG OF THE UNIVERSE!” 😁

    1. psssssst (more whispering) Hi Wally! Mom and Dad have done a super job through the holidays so far. But keep that hockey tape close at hand. Their job is to treat you like a God until January 2! Then you can cut them more slack and let things get back to normal. Have a Happy New Year, Buddy!

  3. wally, wally – you are totally right, it’s a terrible xmas sweater but humans know no limits! on the other hand, you were and are SUCH a good boy that surely you’ll find other goodies in santa’s bag. you know, they know how much joy and entertainment you bring in their lives and they’ll show their love and appreciation every single day – you are a truly loved companion to the family.
my cousin (well one of many) got herself a beagle from a shelter where Queenie landed after having done ā€˜her services’ for the medicine in clinical tests for new treatments. they use beagles (so I learned) because they have such good and kind characters that they suffer in silence – and when they’re ā€˜done’ they get put in dog shelters where they hope to find a kind person to look after them for the rest of their life. Queen(ie – that’s my addendum) is such a sweet and lively dog, full of joie de vivre, and a great joy to my cousin.
wally, dave, susan and everybody out there, family and friends, readers and fans: have a blessed and blissful Christmas, enjoy your time together – it can end abruptly or last a long time, but ā€˜consumed’ joys can’t be taken away so gather as many as possible.
A happy New Year to you dear boy too – may you unearth many more stones and other goodies!

  4. Well Wally, I’m kinda digging the whole sweater vibe – you’re stylin’ for sure, and that’s thanks to your mom.My hunch is that it’s not that itchy – I think that was your dad weighing in. Happy Holidays Wally, Susan, Dave and your entire family. Wishing you a drool-y nap, good food and many puppy kisses for all…and Dave, I appreciate you – mega

  5. I’m with you, wally! I really, really dislike tight, itchy sweaters! you’ve earned your gifts this year for sure ! merry christmas

  6. That’s actually a sweater that Susan bought you…. But put it in the dryer by accident. Wally has saved you. Again. Good boy. 🐾
